The Regional On-line Workshop took place on the date 19-20 October 2020, Chisinau
A two days on-line regional workshop on Nature-based Adaptation Solutions to Climate Change for targeted CEE countries, held in the period of 19-20 October 2020 to train key stakeholders (decision-makers, regulators and/or academia) from four participating countries from the CEE: Armenia, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova.
The topic of the workshop was addressed to discuss the main climate change threats to the biodiversity and natural ecosystems in the participating countries, enforce collaboration and cooperation and identify countries needs and best nature-based adaptation solutions in the context of climate change.
The total number of participants was 15 people, representing central environmental public authorities, environmental agencies, scientific research institutions, national coordination centers, project implementation units, NGOs.
Among the participants 9 women (from total 15 participants) have been involved in the workshop activities. The workshop has been moderated by Dr. Helmut Gaugitsch, Head of Scientific Services Biodiversity, Environmental Agency Austria (EAA).
The main outcomes of the on-line workshop were achieving better understanding of EbA principles, CBD and UNFCC, Paris Agreement priorities for biodiversity and climate change, the GCF rules and programming, brainstorming discussion of main objectives, threats, barriers and solutions for the participating countries, guiding materials and the template of the GCF project concept note, as well as development of the roadmaps for the future GCF projects, ither national or regional.
